What do I need to look for in a digital scale?

How does a digital scale work?
A digital scale has a load cell system inside. This system
consists of a 4 wire load cell connected to a cell monitor
(display).The monitor supplies a voltage called the excitation
voltage to the load cell and the load cell returns a mill
volt (mV) signal back to the monitor. The mV signal changes
with the load experienced by the load cell and this mV signal
is used to determine the display value on the monitor.
1) Weight is applied to measuring surface
2) Load cell flexes as weight is applied
3) Sensing elements measure the stress to the load cell
A signal is sent to the display that shows the weight.
How does a digital scale differ from a spring scale?
Like most other digital tools we use, a digital scale will
give you a constant, more accurate weighing result. A good
digital scale will have a weighing resolution of 0.1 ounce
or 1 gram while spring scales typically have a resolution
of 1 oz. or 20 gram.
Digital scales have more features such as a Tare option that
lets you weigh individual ingredients in a bowl by resetting
the scale to zero or a hold feature that captures the weight
and shows it after you remove the item from the scale. Escali

carbs of the food you are weighing.
